Instruct & Teach, Mid-Week Devotional with Chris Chase
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go." (Psalm 32:8) To follow the will of God requires faith and action. This, in turn, requires risk and release. On a personal level, this is where we persevere and flesh out the will of God. This persevering and fleshing out to follow the will of God is not easy, by any means. It is often difficult and convoluted. We don't always know where He's taking us, so we must bend our wills to His . . . most of us don't like bending very much. We would much rather resist and that's why the Christian life is a struggle. But in no way is the Christian life a constant marathon of misery either. . . it's just that a lot of times it's a struggle between our will and His. Someday, when we get to Heaven, we will finally be all the things we have longed to be. But until then, we live in this never-ending push and pull, give and take tension!
Praise Jesus that we have the assurance of heaven
