I am so proud of the work that our church family did the week of Easter. All week long, and for several weeks before, our people were working on the things needed to make Easter weekend a success. I loved seeing the team work, dedication, and smiling faces of everyone who contributed. All of this is a huge sign to me that we are heading in the right direction as a church.
I want you all to know that our community also appreciates your work. Several commented the day of that they loved the event. Some even said that they couldn't think of anything that we would need to improve on. Others made notes when they registered thanking us for giving them a safe and fun place to spend the day. And also as our follow up team reached out to those who wanted more info about our church some took the time to say that they were thankful that our church was willing to serve our community in this way.
Sunday was also pretty amazing. I really enjoyed both services, breakfast, family photos, and just being together to celebrate, and I know I'm not the only one. We've gotten tons of great feedback from our guests. I'm thankful for and impressed by your ability to serve with such excellence the day after a large event and not only pull off great services and delicious breakfast, but also stay long enough to make sure that everything was cleaned up and ready for another week of ministry.
So, as you can see, your work has helped to accomplish our goal of strengthening our connection to our community. It has also had some eternal impact. Seven people stopped by the SOS tent to hear about the hope we have in Christ. Some were looking for assurance or clarification, but several made first-time professions of faith. Also on Sunday you did a great job of getting visitors to our service. Each of them had the opportunity to hear a clear presentation of the Gospel, and to experience the love and unity of our church family. This is what being a church is all about. Everything we do should help people connect more deeply with God.
Easter weekend also provided many opportunities to mentor and disciple young and new believers. Our teens and children were all over the place serving others and helping make things happen. New church members were in the mix as well which gave them an opportunity to learn the value of service and build new relationships. We can't afford to miss out on the value of getting new family members and the next generation of leaders involved in significant ways.
As always there is much more that I could say, but for your sanity (and mine) I'll wrap this us. I want you to know that God is using you to make a difference. Your hard work is not in vain. It is being noticed and is very much appreciated. Don't stop now. We're gaining momentum. Keep pushing. Take the lessons learned from this week and apply them to every week. The best is yet to come.
