"Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." (1 Peter 3:15)  It is very difficult to handle mistreatment when we've done right, but as Christians, we are equipped to do just that.  Whenever we think a wrong has been done to us that we don't deserve, we can pray something similar to this: "Lord, You are with me right now. You have Your reasons for allowing what is happening.  I know You will not take advantage of me.  You, Lord, are too kind to be cruel.  You are too good to be unjust.  You care about me far too much to let this get out of hand.  Please take charge.  Use my integrity to defend me.  Give me the grace to stay calm.  Control my emotions.  Be Lord over my present situation."  When we pray this type of prayer, we santify Christ as Lord in our hearts!
