Friendship, Mid-Week Devotional with Chris Chase
"Oil and perfume make the heart glad, so a man's counsel is sweet to his friend." (Proverbs 27:9) Do relationships mean a lot to you? . . . Are they valuable? Stop and think back over the past month or two. How much time have you spent developing and enjoying relationships? Jesus considered the time He spent with His disciples very much worth His time. They spent countless hours together. They ate together, wept together, laughed together, and prayed together. God didn't really need those men. He certainly didn't need the trouble and hassle they created on occasions. But He loved those twelve men . . . He believed in them. Any amount of time we are able to invest in relationships is time well spent. And when we do, remember, we are imitating God, for His Son, Jesus, certainly did!
