Judgement, Mid-Week Devotional with Chris Chase
"God will bring every act to judgement, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:4) Read that verse again slowly . . . God is going to bring every act to judgment. I don't know how, but He will, and that ought to bother us to some degree. God, in His time, and in His way, will cause a replay of our lives. It makes perfect sense to me that the One who created us has every right to hold us accountable. We cannot live irresponsible lives and get away with it. We are not free to run wild and then wink in God's direction, thinking that, no matter what, the loving Daddy in the sky will just pat us on the back and say, "Don't worry, everything is going to be just fine." It doesn't work like that. Our journey, one day, is headed for a sudden stop. Then, all alone, standing face to face with God in that epochal moment, we will give an account of the life that we have lived. Wow, what a sobering, serious thought!
Ow what a day that will be when my Jesus I will see ow what a day I can hardly wait. Amen
